SENSING MAKING SENSE
If an organism is an embodied theory of it’s environment and history, then this piece is an incomplete theory of my experience of being a theory. (…) C. Gibbons

Space[held] is a work in progress informed by the presence of absence. I naturally gravitate towards space in my personal practices and history from dancing and mathematics to knitting. How is empty space described, contained, inhabited, felt, embodied? What is our relationship to that which is conspicuously absent, removed, departed, lost?
Annie Wang is a member of Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group and has also performed work by Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch, Nicole Stanton, Pia Vinson, Asako Miyahira, Boitsov Classical Ballet Company, Dance Elixir, and MADart Productions. Her most recent choreographic work, “Marigram”, is an international collaboration between Chinese(-American) and Middle Eastern artists inspired by mass protests. It has been supported by Brooklyn Arts Council and CEC Artslink, and presented at Five Myles, BRIClab, and Triskelion. Annie has been a resident artist at at the Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Marble House Project as well as a selected choreographer for Doug Varone DEVICES. Photo © Oscar Lewin
