During this workshop, attendees will get a brief explanation of Amanda Kelly Espiritu’s work and process to create mixed media informed by music, poetry, and other art forms. Attendees will also get the chance to create their own unique pieces using paint, coffee filters, newspaper, and other mediums while listening to musicians and poets. Participants are not required to bring anything, however, we encourage everyone to bring a couple light pieces of material to experiment with, such as magazines, old clothes, and picture frames.
About the Artist: Since she was a young girl, Amanda has been fascinated with art and visual culture, embracing drawing and painting as a means of self expression. As she continued to explore other cultures and different forms of art and storytelling, she began crafting her own stories and poems, which starts to inform her art. Born in Los Angeles in 1992, Amanda has lived in several cities including Manila, San Francisco, London, and Boston. She captures her passion for traveling and people’s love of live and adventure in her photography and her short stories. Amanda currently lives in NYC and works in advertising. www.amandakespiritu.com
